Taking on the design challenge was Robin Bretz of Karr Bick Kitchen & Bath. Her goal was to transform the client’s vision into the reality without compromising the architectural integrity of the house. The main obstacle she faced was fitting the enormous gourmet appliances, including a six-burner Wolf cooktop, into the tiny space, which she achieved in spades by careful location selection. For the surrounding cabinetry, the client chose a traditional door style furnished by Mouser Custom Cabinetry and finished in a custom color.
To further the culinary customization, Bretz incorporated multiple recycling centers and a message center – all of which are integrated and hidden from view. Topping off the newly configured kitchen, the 4-centimeter honed marble countertops and stainless steel backsplash combine to create the perfect blend of contemporary conveniences and vintage charm.
