When the owners of this 1990 Florida home decided it was time to update their space to reflect their current tastes and needs, they called on the designers of Signature Kitchens and Baths of Sarasota, Inc. The homeowners love to not only cook but also entertain.
So the designers were given the challenge of including all the appliances necessary for an accomplished at-home chef while hiding them from view to ensure the kitchen would blend beautifully with the adjacent dining and living areas.
To emphasize the aesthetics, the designer treated the cabinetry as furniture and disguised a Sub-Zero refrigerator, several pullout pantries, a heavy-duty mixer lift, a single oven, a convection microwave oven, a dishwasher, and a warming drawer behind cabinet doors. The coffee glaze of the crystal white cabinets is enhanced by the cherry doors in an espresso with sable glaze. Another integrated feature, a kitchen power grommet rises from the granite next to the cooktop to reveal additional electrical outlets for the chef’s use.
The kitchen’s layout now appears as if the designer started anew, and gracious storage abounds within the design.
