Fit for Family

This kitchen was a component of a whole-house remodeling project. The traditional themes carry throughout the home, so it was requisite that the new kitchen boast a classic elegance as well. After meeting with the large, busy family, Zack Simmons and Lucinda Poole of CKS Design Studio were ready to get down to business. It seemed that the urge to entertain was strong, so the space had to be superb.
The redesign features ample storage space for professional-style appliances and plenty of room for the family to gather. A cherry stained and glazed desk area allows the homeowners to stay organized while elegantly concealing mail and electronics. It is also a great place for the kids to catch up on schoolwork!
The design provides the family with plenty of unique design details, making this kitchen a head-turner when it’s time to host a soirée. For instance, the custom 60-inch mantel hood and stained cherry island are both eye-catching focal points of the design. Turned legs are featured throughout the space—at the range, farm sink, and island. The Bianco Romano countertops are another elegant addition and feature a double-thick ogee edge.
