PHOTOGRAPHER: MARCIA HANSEN
This Wisconsin kitchen is a gourmet’s delight in this newly constructed Tuscan-inspired home with beautiful views of the 40-acre rural lot. But it was not always so. The original kitchen floor plan was unsatisfactory, so the homeowners hired Denise Quade, CKD, of Bella Domicile, Inc., to redesign that end of the house to include a large walk-in pantry and more room for a large dining table.

Kitchen walls were relocated to accommodate a three-level island with clear countertops for easy food prep and serving.
Selections were made for the perimeter cabinetry’s door style and paint color, but the island cabinet color came later once final details were put into place. The granite choices perfectly pull the two cabinet colors together. Stone supports the island snack bar and adds some great texture there. The recessed spice shelf above the rangetop adds a nice touch to this lovely kitchen, and the blower unit is concealed in the custom hood, whose darker glaze helps it stand out. Painted walls were also glazed to add that old-world look.
This empty nester couple frequently entertains, so they love their new kitchen, which is now grouped with the dining room, piano area, and living room to overlook the large pool and beautiful outdoors. Learn more about this designer at www.belladomicile.com.
