When these homeowners in Parker, Colorado, decided to build a new abode, they devoted special attention to the heart of the home. With meal making for three growing children, who would also be in and out for snacks, the couple knew they would be spending a lot of time in this part of their new home. To ensure the space was functional for a family of five and to give their kitchen a designer’s touch, they hired Sheldon Eike of Select Interiors, Inc., to make the kitchen even better than new.
The architect designed the area as a closed kitchen with an island. So Eike opened up all the walls while still maintaining the upper cabinet space. In fact, he increased all the upper cabinets to 15 inches deep for additional storage. Where one wall was opened, he installed a large 12-inch-wide flange beam header. Another main change, he removed the island to increase flow and usability in the small space.
In addition to the increased cabinet depth, all pot drawers and cabinets have pullouts, and the full-extension drawers have soft close drawers and doors. With their new cucina customized for their lifestyle, this Colorado family was ready to move into their new home. Learn more about this designer at www.selectinteriors.com.
