A Sea Change

This waterfront condo in Ocean City, Maryland, had everything the new owners desired as far as location, beautiful ocean views, and building amenities. But what it lacked was an up-to-date interior.
Since the owners enjoy entertaining, a complete remodel with special emphasis on the kitchen was needed. So they called on Kathleen Fisher, NCIDQ, of A Kitchen and Bath Company, who they had previously worked with on other projects.
The kitchen area was totally redesigned with the seashore in mind. Its new light and airy appearance is complemented with the Blue Luise granite countertops, which resemble the reflection of looking down into the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea.
Other additions include a stainless steel French door refrigerator, a two-drawer dishwasher, a wine cooler, and a full-size range. A custom glass tile and granite tile backsplash was added to accent the countertops. Large granite tiles with beveled edges were fabricated from the countertop material and inserted at strategic points above the sink and range, while three smaller tiles, also fabricated from the countertop material, were placed among the glass tiles as accents in the backsplash.
